Busted On Matrimonial Bed: The Day Janet Mbugua and Eddie Ndichu’s Marriage Fell To Pieces

Happy Days: A FILE photo of Janet Mbugua and her ex-husband Eddie Ndichu

In the wake of her ex-husband Eddie Ndichu’s assault scandal, fresh details have emerged on the culmination of events that led to the death of Janet Mbugua’s marriage.

According to sources close to the former Citizen TV news anchor, in the penultimate stages of their union, Ndichu developed a prolonged cheating habit before he quickly became a full-blown womanizer.

By the time Janet was pregnant with their second child, he was still rumoured to be cheating on her with multiple women.

But according to her acquaintances who spoke blogger Edgar Obare, things between the two completely fell apart on one fateful afternoon when Janet came home from work and walked into her husband of six years on top of a campus girl in their matrimonial bed.

“This man brought women to their home and Janet caught him onde day. And that’s when they parted ways,” says the source.

It was at this point that the media personality felt she had gone through enough.

Additionally, the source who also claims to know Eddie and his twin brother Paul, noted that Janet’s suffering was sometimes not only emotional but physical.

On some days, Ndichu would deal her blows so bad that she couldn’t attend business meetings due to visible injuries.

“Janet would miss meetings with stakeholders and sponsors because the previous night she had a serious beating. She would cancel last minute not showing up at times with no reason,” the source adds.

This physical violence has been attributed as the reason behind the death of his twin brother Paul’s marriage.

Paul married Evaline Momanyi, a senior manager at Safaricom after he dumped TV host Grace Mslame.

They later parted ways over Paul’s infidelity.

Meanwhile, Wapi Pay board of directors last evening announced that the company’s founders; Eddie and Paul Ndichu will be stepping down from their roles, to allow for investigations into assault allegations.

Eddie Ndichu has been the CEO of Wapi Pay, while his twin brother Paul Ndichu was the Executive Director.

In a statement on Tuesday, the board said the company’s CEO role will be taken up by Chief Operating Officer Elizabeth Kariuki in an interim capacity.

The announcement of the Ndichu brothers stepping aside comes a few hours after Eddie stepped down as a board member of the Association of Fintechs in Kenya following their scuffle with two ladies caught on camera.
