There are some new developments on the case we reported to you before about land grabbing by one, Nyaribari Masaba MP Ezekiel Machogu. Sources privy to the lands survey office informed us about a serious debate that is going on there about the case.
As we found out early, the officials that had come to the site to shed more light to the court where the exact parcel of land is located had been HEAVILY BRIBED BY THE MP. Now the same officials have been caught between a rock and a hard place to fulfil their part of the bargain simply because no matter how well they try to cook map sketches, there is no way whatsoever the FAKE TITLE deed that Machogu holds can be placed on the parcel of land in question. Besides, the said land belongs to the card system and not title deed as said earlier.
However, even if they manage to doctor sketches to fit their argument, what they are not aware of is, the true owner of the land who is a woman, through well wishers she managed to hire a private lands surveyor who laid all the facts bare. So she had him prepare his report which will also be presented to the court should the government surveyor be naive enough to present a false report.
They now claim they can’t find an updated map of land ownership in the region but good news is, this move was anticipated so early on the lady’s lawyer had made a copy of the missing map and he has it in his possession.
Land grabbing especially in Kisii county has for a long time been a serious issue.
However, the people of Kisii Mwembe have unanimously agreed to gang up and use this latest case to teach Machogu the Nyaribari Masaba MP and his fellow land grabbers a lesson; that no matter how much money you have in the bank or how powerful you are, you can’t just take advantage of the poor and less privileged in the society.
Among the people ready to testify against this EVIL ACT OF DAYLIGHT ROBBERY are current sitting politicians and other influential people in the area.
In fact a track load of people is ready to bear witness should they be asked to testify in court. The case will be heard again on 1st of July, 2019.
