Former Gichugu Member of Parliament Martha Karua has finally had her say on the current political discussion in the country regarding William Ruto and his potential 2022 candidature.
Through her very active Twitter account, Martha Karua decided to put her prowess on law to answer a question that has been bugging many Kenyans. Is William Ruto, having served two terms as Deputy President, legible to vie for presidency in the next elections?
Karua said that it was completely in line with the law for the man from Sugoi to pursue a presidential position in 2022.
She, however, made it very clear that she was against William Ruto’s candidature in the hotly debated 2022 elections.
Constitutionally a deputy president can vie for president despite having served for two terms as deputy. I however hasten to restate that I don't support the candidature of @WilliamsRuto https://t.co/SpfpMSpS5r
