An anonymous source has highlighted a harrowing security situation plaguing Lela Centre near Maseno in Kisumu County.

Disturbing reports reveal a string of violent crimes, including rape, murder and abduction, that have rocked the community and left residents in fear and desperation.

Just last week, tragedy struck when a young woman fell victim to a brutal assault, resulting in her rape and murder.

Shockingly, justice remains elusive as no arrests have been made in connection with the heinous crime.

Another woman also recently vanished without a trace after returning from the market late in the evening.

These chilling incidents are not isolated occurrences.

Last year, a secondary school girl met a similarly tragic fate when she was raped and murdered on her way home from school.

Compounding the crisis is the apparent lack of assistance from local authorities, with residents expressing frustration over the ineffective response from Maseno Police Station.

Despite repeated appeals for help, including reaching out to the MP Rosa Buyu and the area MCA Jagongo, residents remain abandoned and unprotected.

Lela Centre has become a place where darkness reigns after dusk and residents cannot venture past 8 pm without risking their lives.

The urgency of the situation cannot be overstated and immediate action is needed to ensure the safety and security of all residents.
