Kenya’s most corrupt company, Safaricom, is making it mandatory for dealers to buy new phones failure to which they will not receive new till, communication we have seen from the notorious Telco confirms.
This is happening after the company fired more than 50 Area Sales Managers for stealing phones worth 350 Million Shillings, a scandal we exclusively exposed.
These phones were given to ASMs to distribute, but they sold the Huawei phones instead of giving out to Mpesa Shops, revealing the rot and greed within Safaricom. To save face, Safcom started tracking the phones, calling people to find out where they got them.
Our sources from Safaricom have confirmed the notorious Telco wants to seel the dead-stock and recover the money from the phones that Area sales managers stole and sold. Bob Collymore stopped the charging of the managers to avoid embarrassing the company.
Safaricom agents have been suffering for many years, with Safaricom pocketing almost everything they make. Efforts to raise the commissions for the agents have always been resisted by the corrupt Safaricom and a pocketed media.
Kenya media will never expose any Safaricom scandal because the Telco spends billion on adverts. Safaricom has also been accused of controlling the Kenyan Judiciary and the whole system.
