A group of oppressed casual workers have come out to expose Nairobi-based media establishment NRG Radio for failing to disburse payment for a job they delivered last year.
Through a message forwarded to the cnyakundi.com newsdesk, the freelance event ushers revealed that they were contracted by the company in December 2021 to serve as COVID-19 protocol marshalls during the highly publicized “NRG Wave” concert at the Carnivore Grounds.
The event was headlined by internationally acclaimed Jamaican artist Garfield Delano Spence, better known by his stage name “Konshens” as Kenyans ushered in the new year.
Despite tirelessly working for over 18 hours as per the terms in the agreement, NRG Radio is yet to present the young men their meagre payment of Sh2,000.
Their supervisor for the night, a certain hard-headed lady described as Pollet has been playing mind games and dodging all their attempts to seek clarity on the matter.
Whenever they confront her for the delays, she keeps randomly pushing the imaginary pay date.
