[ad_1]

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga is meeting a section of central leaders ahead of Saturday Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) meeting in Mombasa.

The leaders led by Murang’a senator Irungu Kangata and his Nyeri counterpart Ephraim Maina seem to be in discussions of the upcoming February 15 Meru BBI rally.

The AU envoy has said leaders affiliated to tanga tanga faction of Jubilee party are free to attend the rallies.

He notes that BBI is a people’s exercise, citing that it will will be misguided and unfortunate for anyone to think they can sabotage the exercise.

Hours before his meeting with the Mt Kenya leaders, Raila noted that the critics of BBI have been misguided, addig that he has never said he wants to become the head of state come 2022.

He dismissed the critics who are mostly from tanga tanga faction, saying that they are not helpful at all in the BBI process.

“It will be misguided and unfortunate for anyone to think they can sabotage BBI exercise…This is a people’s exercise…I have never said I want to be President in 2022. That is how misguided some people are…they are not helpful at all in this initiative,” Raila told journalists.

Senators and National Assembly members allied to Deputy President William Ruto on Wednesday noted that they will now join regional consultative fora on the BBI beginning Saturday, January 25.

Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen made the announcement following a meeting attended by a host of lawmakers among them Senate Chief Whip Susan Kihika and her National Assembly Benjamin Washiali.

Suna East MP Junet Mohamed who will be the Saturday’s Master of Ceremony welcomed tanga tanga team in BBI rallies but cautioned them to cease their reckless attacks on BBI.

“It is my hope that they are coming to Mombasa ready to focus on what’s important and NOT for sideshows. Because should they attempt sideshows, they’ll have themselves to blame. BBI is about national inclusivity. Glad to welcome them to Mombasa. Karibuni wangwana!” Junet posted on twitter.
