Student Revelation: Maranda High School’s Disturbing Downfall
I’m a student at Maranda High School, and I’ve been searching for a better way to voice our concerns, but so far, it’s been a challenge. Unfortunately, our school is going through a significant decline. Greed among some teachers has become a pressing issue, and there’s intense competition for top positions within the school. Shockingly, both the principal and the deputy principal have been involved in extorting money from students, displaying a corrupt nature that’s visible to all.
Recently, when we reported to school, students with fee balances were left to sleep in the cold, as they claimed there was no room for them in the dormitories. The principal has promised to address the bedbug issue in the dorms, but even sleeping peacefully has become a problem lately.
This year, three students have tragically lost their lives due to negligence on the school’s part. However, when questioned, the blame always seems to evade them. Furthermore, sick students are prevented from seeking medical attention to avoid exposure. We earnestly hope that appropriate action will be taken regarding these matters.
It’s imperative that the principal, Dr. Edwin Namachanja, the current deputy, Mr. Jacob Odeny, and the Director of Studies, Mr. Peter Ochieng’, are held accountable. Even the teachers share our frustrations with the current administration, and we believe that students should also be part of the solution. Our hope is that this message reaches the relevant authorities.
Thank you for your attention.
Our hope is that by sharing our experiences and concerns, we can encourage a constructive dialogue within our school community and pave the way for positive change.
