What Happened To Ryan Grantham?
Earlier this year, the 24-year-old Grantham pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and received a jail sentence as a result.
This conviction carries an automatic life sentence in prison. Grantham committed the murder by shooting his 64-year-old mother, Barbara Waite, in the back of the head with a handgun while she was playing the piano.
The crime took place in their family home in Squamish.
Shortly after the murder, Grantham recorded a confession video. He later informed the authorities that he had initially intended to assassinate Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
