BARINGO || By Evans, Correspondent.
Counties will soon be rendered unable to pay for salaries for their employees owing to a large financial deficit in the country solely blamed on corruption, an mp has claimed.
Speaking in Kabarnet during the official opening of Baringo central constituency office, Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter said the country is bankrupt owing to corruption and uncontrolled borrowing by the government.
He warned that if not checked the government will not have any other option other to increase borrowing to meet the balooning wage bill.
He reiterated that the issue touching on corruption should not be seen as targetting a certain community but only individuals involved in graft.
Keter asked the president not to relent on the war on corruption saying the war should be sustained till all those involved are brought to book.
Baringo Central MP Joshua Kandie on his part said that the days of the corrupt were now over and they should brace themselves for hard times.
Kandie added that those involved in graft will have to face the full force of the law as a sure way to justice.
