In a near-identical sentiment to what’s happening in Rift Valley where Deputy President William Ruto is facing revolt for failing to deliver promises, President Uhuru Kenyatta has dispatched Wachira wa Kiago to relay a message urging Kikuyu’s to vote and retain the tyranny of numbers.
Invoking Kikuyu tradition the old men who seem to be out of touch with the grumblings within the Kikuyu’s after failed promises by their tribesmate and President Uhuru Kenyatta, are urging uniformity in opinion.
Central Kenya has been hit by the lowest turnout of new IEBC registrations, as voter apathy takes over the region. Corruption allegations, fraud and the general incompetence by Uhuru has left Kikuyu’s frustrated.
Recently President Kenyatta had promised to stay in Sagana State Lodge for a month as he did in Mombasa, to meet people and address issues affecting KIkuyu’s but he only stayed for 3 days, a matter that did not go down well with the people.
And since Uhuru took over office in 2013, he has intentionally gone out of his way to undermine gains made by former President Mwai Kibaki, where he created an enabling environment for business, where Kikuyu’s seem to thrive most. Nearly all sectors have faced losses, and a recent increment of duties has seen vehicle imports drop by 80%.
Uhuru also refused to pay teachers claiming that there is no money, yet former Devolution CS Anne Waiguru whom he defended, is now in the news for industrial-scale fraud in a scandal that has entangled URP politicians Aden Duale and Kip Murkomen.
We hereby attach the message from the Chairman of the Kikuyu Council of Elders where he blames ID’s as the cause of the voter-apathy, not even bothering to find out why Kikuyu’s aren’t happy with Uhuru. He has been accused of being an extortionist who uses the title to get money from prominent Kikuyu’s.
We also ask the National Cohesion Committe to assess the message from Wachira wa Kiago, to evaluate if it’s meant to stoke ethnic tensions ahead of next year’s General Elections. Today Inspector General of Police Julius Boinnet issued a stern warning to those stoking ethnic flames or arming gangs.
