Ammar Al-Yasari was a 35-year-old Iraqi-American who had everything going for him.
He had a scholarship to study agricultural economics at Michigan State University, a beautiful family, and a promising career.
But his life was brutally snatched away on February 4, 2019, when he was savagely murdered inside his home in Holt, Michigan.
The killer was none other than his wife’s lover, Jacob Ficher, who had been having a secret affair with B’dour Al-Yasari for years.
B’dour Al-Yasari was the evil mastermind behind the murder plot, tricking Ficher into killing her husband with fake claims of abuse and promises of marriage.
How Did Ammar Al-Yasari Die?
On the night of the murder, Ficher hid inside Ammar’s house, armed with a hatchet-like weapon.
When Ammar came home from work, Ficher ambushed him and hit him more than two dozen times in the head, face and neck.
He then tried to cover up the bloody crime scene by pouring bleach over Ammar’s body and splashing it on the walls.
B’dour Al-Yasari came home later with her two young children and pretended to find her husband’s body.
She called 911 and lied that she found him lying unresponsive on the ground.
She also said that she was scared and that a friend had already picked up the children.
But her story did not fool the police.
They found holes in her statements, such as how she entered the house, why she left her children in the car, and why she made some suspicious comments “out of the blue”.
They also found evidence of her affair with Ficher on her phone and computer.
How Were B’dour Al-Yasari and Jacob Ficher Caught?
The police soon arrested B’dour Al-Yasari and Jacob Ficher for the murder of Ammar Al-Yasari.
They found out that the two had been planning to kill Ammar for months and that they had exchanged thousands of text messages and phone calls.
They also learned that B’dour Al-Yasari had lied to Ficher about being abused by her husband and that she had begged him to kill him for her.
B’dour Al-Yasari and Jacob Ficher were charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.
They both pleaded not guilty and went to trial separately.
Ficher admitted killing Ammar Al-Yasari but claimed that he acted in self-defense after Ammar attacked him first.
He also said that he loved B’dour Al-Yasari and that he believed her lies about being abused.
B’dour Al-Yasari denied any involvement in the murder and blamed Ficher for everything.
She said that she did not know that Ficher was going to kill her husband and that she was shocked when she found out.
She also said that she loved her husband and that he never abused her.
Ammar Al-Yasari Murder Case Update: What Happened to B’dour Al-Yasari and Jacob Ficher?
The jury did not buy their stories and found them both guilty on all counts.
They were sentenced to mandatory life in prison without parole. They are currently serving their sentences in different facilities.
Ammar Al-Yasari’s family and friends were heartbroken by his death and demanded justice for him.
They described him as a kind, smart, and generous man who had a heart of gold, saying that he was a loving father who adored his children.
They expressed their anger and disbelief at B’dour Al-Yasari’s betrayal and cruelty.
Additionally, they asked her why she killed Ammar and how she could do such a thing to him.
They also said that they hoped she would suffer for what she did.
Ammar Al-Yasari’s sister, Zahraa Al-Yasari, said: “He was so smart and always helped me with my homework…He always dreamed of coming to the United States and having a chance at a better future…You took the ultimate advantage of him and his kindness…You are evil.”
