Country singer Toby Keith dies at 62.
The singer of “Should’ve Been a Cowboy” passed away on Monday night in the presence of his family, as stated in a brief announcement.
Country music legend Toby Keith, who had disclosed his battle with stomach cancer 18 months ago, breathed his last at the age of 62.
The statement conveyed that he faced his battle with grace and courage.

In June 2022, Keith revealed his battle with cancer, and by September of the same year, he shared the fluctuating journey of undergoing treatment, describing it as a “roller coaster” experience.
Despite the challenges, he continued recording and performing.
In December, he performed live over three nights in Las Vegas, displaying resilience.
Although visibly thin, his voice remained strong as he sang numerous chart-topping hits.
Keith expressed satisfaction with the conclusion of the year, describing the three sold-out shows in Vegas as a fitting way to end the year on his Instagram.
In June 2022, Keith disclosed that he had undergone chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. He informed the Oklahoman newspaper last year that the tumor had diminished by a third.
Hailing from Clinton, Oklahoma, and raised in Moore near Oklahoma City, Keith rose to prominence as a country artist in the early 1990s, solidifying his status as an icon in the genre. With estimates ranging from 25 million to 30 million records sold in the United States and over 10 billion digital streaming plays for his songs, Keith’s influence is undeniable.
His latest album, “100% Songwriter,” was released in November. The inaugural single, “Should’ve Been a Cowboy,” penned in a Dodge City, Kansas motel bathroom, skyrocketed to the top of country charts in the United States and Canada upon its 1993 release. It remained a widely played radio hit throughout the 1990s.
Among his other notable hits are “Beer for My Horses,” a collaboration with Willie Nelson, along with “I Love This Bar” and “Red Solo Cup.”
