Hall was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1962. He began his music career as a member of the R&B group Numb, which released one album in 1986.

After Numb disbanded, Hall began working as a producer and songwriter.

He scored his first major success with Mary J. Blige’s debut album, What’s the 411?, which was released in 1992.

Hall produced several tracks on the album, including the hit single “You Remind Me.”

In 1994, Hall co-wrote and co-produced several tracks on Madonna’s album Bedtime Stories, including the hit single “Human Nature.”

He also worked with R&B harmony group Brownstone, producing their debut album, So Much More, which was released in 1995.

The album spawned the hit singles “If You Want Me” and “Grapevyne.”

Hall has also worked with a number of other artists, including Mariah Carey, Usher, Donell Jones, CeCe Peniston, and Joe.
