Who is Francis Suarez?
Francis Xavier Suarez is an American lawyer and politician currently serving as the 43rd mayor of Miami, Florida.
He was initially elected in 2017 and was re-elected for a second term in 2021.
Suarez, the eldest of four children, is the son of Rita and Xavier Suarez, who served as a two-term mayor of Miami.

In the runoff election held on November 17, 2009, Suarez emerged victorious with 51.41% of the vote.
In subsequent years, Suarez ran unchallenged for re-election, securing his position as mayor in both 2011 and 2015.
