Majorjon Kaylor, 31 years old, was apprehended by local authorities at a duplex on 515 W. Brown Ave on Sunday, June 18, 2023.

He now faces charges for the murder of his neighbors: Kenneth Guardipee (65), Kenna Guardipee (41), Devin R. Smith (18), and Aiken Smith (16).

According to court documents, local police received two consecutive calls reporting the shootings, which led to Majorjon Kaylor’s arrest. Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement discovered the lifeless bodies of all four victims.

Motives Revealed: Indecent Exposure and Harassment

Allegedly, the murders were driven by an incident involving one of the victims, Devin Smith, who had indecently exposed himself to Kaylor’s daughters in the week preceding the tragic event.

Legal Proceedings: Majorjon Kaylor Remanded to Jail

Following his arrest, Majorjon Kaylor was taken to Shoshone County Jail, having been charged with the fatal shooting of the four victims.

He made his first court appearance on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, where he was denied bail and remanded to jail. Kaylor faces four counts of first-degree murder and one count of burglary for entering the Guardipee family’s home.

The victim family and Kaylie Kaylor’s family resided in the same duplex, with the victims on the ground floor and Kaylie’s family occupying the upper floor.

On June 13, 2023, Kaylie Kaylor posted on Facebook, detailing an incident involving her children and Devin Smith.

According to her account, Smith had engaged in indecent behavior in front of her daughters, prompting her to report the incident to the police.

On the day of the murders, Majorjon Kaylor got into an argument with Kenneth and Kenna Guardipee concerning their son’s conduct.

Witnesses report that the accused became agitated and ultimately shot the victims.

Kaylie Kaylor stated that she witnessed the argument and subsequently heard gunshots.

She hurried to the upper floor where she heard additional shots, presumably those that claimed the lives of the other two victims.

Majorjon Kaylor, currently facing severe charges, including four counts of first-degree murder, has not entered a plea at the time of writing.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 3, 2023.
