Liverpool will not let star player leave despite €50m verbal offer from Saudi club

Liverpool has rejected a €50 million bid from Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal for forward Luis Diaz.

The Colombian winger joined the Reds from Porto in January 2022 and has quickly established himself as a key player in Jurgen Klopp’s team.

He scored 11 goals in 26 games in competition last season, including four in the Champions League.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Diaz is “very much in Klopp’s plans” and that the Reds are not interested in selling him.

The €50 million bid from Al Hilal is a significant offer, but it is not enough to tempt Liverpool into selling Diaz.

The Reds are confident that they will keep holding on to the 25-year-old and that he will be a player for them in the coming years.

Romano wrote on Twitter:

Liverpool forward Luis Diaz has attracted interest from Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, journalist Paul Joyce of The Times states.

Joyce reported earlier this week that Al Hilal has been monitoring Diaz for some time and is considering making a formal offer for the Colombian international.
Diaz joined Liverpool from Porto in January 2022 and has quickly become a key player for the Merseyside club.

He scored 15 goals in 26 appearances in all competitions last season and helped Liverpool win the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
Al Hilal is one of the wealthiest clubs in the world and is known for its big-money signings.

They have already made several high-profile acquisitions in recent years, including Carlos Tevez, James Rodriguez, and Neymar.
It is unclear how much Al Hilal would be willing to pay for Diaz.

However, their offer would likely be significantly higher than the £50 million that Liverpool paid for him in January.

Liverpool are unlikely to be willing to sell Diaz, especially after just one season at the club.

However, the lure of a big-money move to Saudi Arabia could be difficult to resist for the 26-year-old.

It will be interesting to see how this situation develops in the coming weeks and months.

If Al Hilal does make a formal offer for Diaz, it could spark a bidding war between the Saudi Arabian club and Liverpool.

Joyce said (via Empire of the Kop):

Luis Díaz is the latest Liverpool player to attract attention from the Saudi Pro League, with Al-Hilal interested in signing him. Al-Hilal are managed by Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus and sources in Portugal and Colombia confirmed the interest in the winger. However, no bid has been submitted.

Who Is Díaz?

Díaz began his professional career in the Colombian Second Division at Barranquilla, before moving to Atlético Junior, winning Categoría Primera A, one Copa Colombia and one Superliga Colombiana.

Díaz was signed by FC Porto in July 2019 for a reported fee of €7 million.

He quickly established himself as a key player for Porto, scoring 46 goals in 125 appearances in all competitions.

In January 2022, Díaz was signed by Liverpool for a fee of €45 million.

He made his Liverpool debut on 5 February 2022, in a 3-1 win against Cardiff City in the FA Cup.

Díaz has been praised for his pace, dribbling skills, and finishing ability.

He has been described as a “raw talent” with “huge potential”.

In his first season with Liverpool, Díaz helped the club win the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.

He also played a key role in Liverpool’s run to the Champions League final, scoring two goals in the semi-final against Villarreal.

Díaz is a Colombian international and has represented his country at the 2019 Copa América and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

He has scored 15 goals in 33 appearances for Colombia.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Luis Diaz will not be sold this summer.

Klopp admitted that the club was reluctant to sell the Colombia international, who joined the Reds from Porto in January 2022 for £37.5 million.

“We will not sell Luis Diaz this summer,” Klopp said. “He is an important player for the team, and we are so happy to have him in our squad.”

Diaz has made a quick impact at Anfield, scoring 11 goals and providing eight assists in 47 appearances across all competitions.

He helped the Reds win the FA Cup, the English Super Cup, and the Carabao Cup.

Klopp expects Diaz to be a key player for Liverpool again this season, and he is confident that the winger will continue to improve.

“Luis is a world-class player,” Klopp said. “He is still young and has a lot of potential to improve. I am excited to see what he can do for us in the coming season.”

Fabrizio Romano names Southampton star as potential Fabinho replacement at Liverpool

Liverpool midfielder Fabinho is reportedly close to joining Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Brazilian has been at Anfield for five years but is now said to be keen on a new challenge after winning the Premier League, Champions League, and FIFA Club World Cup.

Al Ittihad has reportedly offered Fabinho a lucrative contract, and the player is now in talks with Liverpool over a move. The Reds are said to be open to selling the 29-year-old but are only willing to let

him go for a fee of around £40 million.

Fabinho’s departure would be a major loss for Liverpool, but it would also free up space in the squad for younger players like Harvey Elliott and Naby Keita.

The Brazilian has been a part of Liverpool’s midfield since joining the club in 2018, and transfer would be felt by the team.

However, if he does leave, it will be for a good reason. Al Ittihad is an ambitious club that is looking to win the Saudi Arabian League and the AFC Champions League.

Fabinho would be a major addition to their squad, and he would be able to help them achieve their goals.

It remains to be seen whether Fabinho will leave Liverpool, but it is clear that he is at a crossroads in his career.

He is now a world-class midfielder, and he has the opportunity to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world.

However, he may also be tempted by the chance to play in a new league and challenge for new trophies.

Whatever Fabinho decides to do, it will be an interesting move. He is a talented player with alot to offer, and he will be a big loss for Liverpool if he does leave.

Liverpool Keen on Signing Southampton’s Romeo Lavia

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia. The 19-year-old Belgian has been a key player for the Saints since joining the club in 2021, and he has been linked

with a move to a number of top clubs in recent months.

Fabrizio Romano, a well-known transfer expert, has reported that Liverpool are among the clubs interested in Lavia.

Romano said that the Reds are “keen” on signing the midfielder, and they are “monitoring the situation”.

Lavia is a versatile midfielder who can play as a defensive midfielder or a box-to-box midfielder.

He is known for his passing ability, his tackling skills, and his energy.

If Liverpool do sign Lavia, he would be the third midfielder that they have signed this summer.

The Reds have already brought in Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and Hove Albion and Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig.

Liverpool are looking to strengthen their midfield ahead of the 2023-24 season.

The Reds will be competing in the Premier League, the Champions League, and the FA Cup next season, and they will need a strong midfield to challenge for trophies.

Lavia would be a good addition to Liverpool’s midfield.

He is a young and talented player with a lot of potential.

Lavia would add depth to Liverpool’s midfield and he would provide competition for the likes of Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, and Naby Keita.

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will be able to sign Lavia. However, the Reds are definitely interested in the midfielder, and they could make a move for him in the coming weeks.

“In any case, [Liverpool] will sign at least one more midfielder. Romeo Lavia is top of the list. They want Romeo Lavia. But I’m told that Chelsea are still there, so let’s see what’s going to happen.”

He also claimed that the Belgium international could attract interest from Arsenal as well. Romano added:

“Also, we know that if Arsenal sell Thomas Partey to a Saudi Arabian club, [Lavia] could be a possibility for Arsenal. Liverpool are considering multiple options for the defensive midfield position.”

It remains to be seen who the Merseyside outfit will pursue to replace Fabinho in the midfield department.
