Manchester United’s Antony Denies Assault Allegations: Determined to Clear His Name.
Manchester United footballer Antony has refuted allegations of assaulting his ex-girlfriend and expressed his determination to clear his name.
Following police questioning in Brazil, Antony took to Instagram to address his fans. DJ and influencer Gabriela Cavallin had previously filed a complaint, accusing Antony of assaulting her on multiple occasions in São Paulo and Manchester.
Antony stated that he had chosen to remain silent until after providing his statement to the authorities.
He firmly believes that evidence will demonstrate his innocence, and he hopes to move past the harm caused to his reputation.
In his message, he addressed his friends, fans, and followers.
“On behalf of my well-being, I would like to publicly address the situation following my statement at the police station regarding the ongoing investigation involving my name.
This is the first time I am speaking out since being falsely accused of assault.
I chose to remain silent until now to ensure that the investigative process was not compromised.
However, during this period, my family and I endured silent suffering.
Having grown up in an underprivileged community, I have never faced a situation quite like this, where a false accusation of assault led to premature and unjust public judgment by certain individuals.
Once the investigation concludes, my innocence will be vindicated, and I firmly believe that justice will prevail.
The initial damage caused to my reputation will be relegated to the past.”
“I express my gratitude for the overwhelming support conveyed through numerous messages during this incredibly challenging period.”
Authorities in the city of São Paulo, Brazil, have initiated an investigation into allegations of domestic violence, threats, and physical harm, as reported by Brazil’s prominent broadcaster, Globo.
Gabriela, aged 23, reportedly presented photographs of alleged injuries at a local police station earlier this month.
A police report, reviewed by a reputable sports news site ESPN, describes a total of four alleged incidents.
According to Gabriela, she had an on-and-off relationship with Brazilian World Cup player Antony, also 23, for two years.
They lived together in Amsterdam while he played for Ajax.

The first purported assault, as stated by Gabriela, took place at a nightclub in São Paulo in July of last year when she was approximately 17 weeks pregnant with Antony’s child.
Allegedly, Antony forcefully removed her from the venue, grabbing her by the arm and hair, before pushing her into a car after she ended their relationship.
Gabriela informed the police that they reconciled soon after, and she subsequently relocated to Manchester with Antony following his transfer to Manchester United.
The second alleged assault occurred in January at Gabriela’s apartment.
The “jealous” footballer supposedly caused her injuries that necessitated surgical correction for displaced silicone breast implants.
Two additional purported assaults took place in England, one of which was witnessed by Gabriela’s friend and Antony’s mother.
After returning to Brazil last month, Gabriela claims Antony made threats against her.
Brazilian media reports indicate that she has sought “urgent protective measures” against Antony.
Manchester United’s spokesperson stated that the club has no comment on the matter.
The Sun has reached out to both Greater Manchester Police and São Paulo police for their responses.
The couple’s relationship became publicly known last year. In July, Gabriela shared on social media about experiencing a miscarriage.
They had intended to name their baby boy Luca Mateo.
Antony, originally from Osasco, a suburb of São Paulo, achieved a significant career milestone when he joined Ajax in 2020.
In the following year, he made a transfer to Manchester United and represented the Brazil national team during the World Cup held in Qatar.
