Neymar’s Dad Arrested for Environmental Crime.
According to reports, Neymar’s father, Neymar de Silva Santos, has been apprehended by authorities in Brazil.
The arrest is said to be related to an “environmental crime” allegedly committed during renovations on Neymar’s residence in Mangaratiba.
As per Uol Sport, Neymar Sr was taken into custody following a complaint, during an operation conducted by Mangaratiba City Hall and the Civil Police.
The arrest ensued after a dispute with Shayenne Barreto, the secretary of the environment in Mangaratiba.
Although Neymar Sr was subsequently released, the authorities involved emphasized the need for greater compliance.
Furthermore, it is reported that Barreto issued a fine of five million Brazilian reals, equivalent to £822,000.
The issue seems to revolve around an alleged construction of an artificial lake by Neymar, which reportedly contributes to deforestation, rock displacement, and altering the course of a river.
This undertaking involves various environmental violations, such as diverting water flow, unauthorized extraction of river water, creating an artificial lake, conducting earthworks and excavations, and moving stones and rocks without proper authorization.
The operation to address these concerns was led by the Mangaratiba Municipal Environment Department, with support from the Environmental Military Police and the municipality’s Environmental Protection Group.
Meanwhile, Neymar himself recently made a public apology to his pregnant girlfriend, Bruna Biancardi, expressing remorse and acknowledging the difficulties they have faced.

The couple, who reportedly began dating in 2021 and officially confirmed their relationship in January 2022, shared the news of their impending first child in April.
However, Neymar’s Instagram post featuring a photo of them together served as an apology, as he recognized his mistakes and expressed his desire for Bruna and their family’s presence in his life.
He acknowledged her exposure to the situation, her suffering, and emphasized his commitment to supporting her, admitting his wrongdoing and seeking forgiveness.
