Nonetheless, rescue teams are maintaining optimism and relying on a state-of-the-art underwater robot that has reached the bottom of the ocean to thoroughly search for the distressed sub.
OceanGate’s specially designed vessel, featured in the most recent photograph available, was intended to transport passengers to the astonishing depth of 12,500 feet below the ocean’s surface.
Unfortunately, the submarine disappeared on Sunday while carrying a crew of five.
The search teams have been tirelessly combing the Atlantic, racing against time to locate the vessel, as it ceased all communication on Sunday with only 96 hours’ worth of life support remaining.
The United States Coast Guard has issued a warning that the oxygen supply was anticipated to deplete by 12:08 pm BST (7:08 am ET) today, implying that it is highly likely that the crew aboard the Titan submersible is now without breathable air.
The survival window without oxygen is incredibly brief, lasting only a few minutes for humans.
Nonetheless, Rear Admiral John Mauger of the US Coast Guard, leading the search mission, reaffirmed today that the rescue teams are resolutely focused on finding the crew of five alive, maintaining hope in the face of this critical situation.

OceanGate’s submarine, known as Titan, disappeared less than two hours after embarking on its descent to the depths of 12,500 feet toward the Titanic wreckage on Sunday.
It failed to resurface later that day, and its final communication, a “ping,” indicated its location directly above the ruins.
The expedition was undertaken by British billionaire adventurer Hamish Harding, businessman Shahzada Dawood (aged 48), and his son Suleman (aged 19), a student at Glasgow University.
Each participant paid £200,000 for the trip. OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush (aged 61) and veteran French explorer Paul-Henri Nargeolet (aged 77) led the mission.
Guillermo Sohnlein, who co-founded OceanGate with Rush in 2009, expressed the possibility that if all five men remained calm and still, their oxygen supply might have lasted longer.

This particular day marks a critical juncture in the search and rescue operation, as the sub’s life support provisions are dwindling.
The detection of underwater banging sounds on Wednesday raised hopes of a last-minute miracle, prompting additional rescue vessels equipped with state-of-the-art undersea search technology to join the final attempt to locate the lost craft Titan in the Atlantic.
The US Coast Guard reported that the Canadian vessel Horizon Arctic has dispatched a robot that has reached the ocean floor to commence the search for the missing submarine.
Furthermore, specialized ultra-deep submersibles, transported by RAF and USAF cargo planes, are en route to St. John’s, Canada, to aid in what sources are now referring to as a “recovery mission.”
The remotely operated vehicle, nicknamed Juliet, has already conducted surveys of the Titanic wreck.
A team of experts, consisting of a 10-member crew, is aboard a specialized aircraft equipped with 6 kilometers of reinforced steel cable, which will provide power and control for underwater operations.
US Coast Guard Captain Jamie Frederick confirmed the detection of deep-sea sounds, which are currently being analyzed by sonar experts to determine if they originate from the 22-foot submarine.
The French ship L’Atalante, carrying the Victor 6000 robot capable of reaching depths of 20,000 feet, arrived at the scene along with the US crane ship Horizon Atlantic.
The crew on board L’Atalante submerged the Victor 6000 around 12:30 pm BST (7:30 am ET) to thoroughly search the seabed.
This robot possesses the ability to dive deeper than other equipment deployed in the area and is operated by a crew of 25 individuals.
It is equipped with manipulator arms that can cut cables or perform other maneuvers to release a stuck vessel.
Although the robot cannot lift the Titan submarine to the surface alone, it can assist in securing it to a ship.

The US Coast Guard also confirmed that the Canadian vessel Horizon Arctic has deployed its own remotely operated vehicle (ROV), which has reached the sea floor and has commenced its search for the missing submarine.
Experts cautioned that even if the submarine is located, it would require several hours to hoist it to the surface. Dr. David Gallo, a deep-sea explorer, emphasized the need to swiftly approach the identified spot, verify the presence of the submarine using robots, and initiate the necessary steps for retrieval.
He explained that the process of locating and bringing the submarine to the surface is time-consuming and can take hours.
Lieutenant Commander Richard Kantharia, part of the Royal Navy Submariner, has been assigned to the Titan rescue efforts for as long as required.
He joined the US Coast Guard mission on Tuesday evening.
The UK government confirmed its support, with a Downing Street spokesman stating that a Royal Navy submariner has been embedded to assist in the search and rescue operations.
During the operation, two wives of the trapped crew members have been aboard ships on the surface, closely monitoring the ongoing efforts.
The ill-fated Titanic sank on its maiden voyage to New York on April 14, 1912, after colliding with an iceberg.
Over 1,500 of the 2,200 passengers and crew members on board lost their lives, with many succumbing to the freezing waters within minutes.
The wreckage of the 822-foot liner was first discovered in 1985 and continues to deteriorate.
