Trey Parker was born Randolph Severn Parker III on October 19, 1969, in Conifer, Colorado.

He displayed early creativity, idolizing Monty Python and releasing a comedy musical album in high school.

The band WAR sued Parker for using their song “Why Can’t We Be Friends” in the South Park movie without permission. The lawsuit was settled out of court.
The creators of the musical Avenue Q sued Parker for plagiarism, claiming that The Book of Mormon copied their style and format. The lawsuit was dismissed.
