Hours after she went on an embarrassing online rampage, Azimio Leader Raila Odinga’s last-born daughter Winnie Odinga now claims that her verified Twitter account was hacked.
“Twitter hacked. Got it back. Everyone can take it easy now,” she wrote a few hours ago.
In a series of tweets (some of which were later deleted) published on Monday, September 12, the eve of the swearing-in of William Ruto, Kenya’s fifth president, Winnie launched scathing attacks on self-imagined “enemies” of her father, who is still nursing the pains of losing the recently concluded presidential election.
The Supreme Court, under the stewardship of Chief Justice Martha Koome, threw out the petitions he and others had filed to challenge Ruto’s victory.
Winnie Odinga began by accusing the Supreme Court jury and IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati of uniting to thwart Mr Odinga’s win.
She went on to claim that the judges were paid a billion each, with Chief Justice Martha Koome receiving a bonus of Sh500m.
Raila, who was facing off with Ruto and two others, fell in second place after garnering over 6.9 million votes.
“Judges were paid a billion a piece, CJ 1.5b, Chebukati was short-changed at 300 million he should demand his 700m. I’m writing a memoir. Let me make a PowerPoint,” she wrote on the tweet that is now deleted.
The war of words did not end there.
After attacking the stakeholders of the judicial and electoral process, Winnie Odinga went after one of her father’s closest allies, affluent city lawyer Donald Kipkorir who had called on Raila to exit the political stage and “stop crying for Kenyans”.
“Dearest Raila Odinga, tomorrow begins the Presidency of H.E William Ruto. From the depths of my heart, I beseech you to stop crying for us. Don’t look out for Kenya anymore. Your love was unrequited. We didn’t deserve your love & sacrifice. Let’s be with our foibles & chains. Godspeed,” Donald had written to Raila.
“Shut up for once,” Winnie replied.
The meltdown led to a section of Azimio supporters echoing Kipkorir’s sentiments.
Some blamed her for costing her father the presidency by allegedly interfering with his campaigns.
“You think we don’t know your involvement in this campaign? Do you think we are afraid to tell everyone how you sabotaged your own father’s campaign? We will! Give us a minute,” Digital Media Consultant Abraham Mutai lashed back.
In a different post, Winnie Odinga hurled unprintables at a social media user who had tagged her on a tweet bearing some friendly banter in regards to her now infamous quote of dreaming to get married in State House.
“The only option left for Winnie Odinga to do a wedding at State House is to get married to Farouk Kibet, Talam or Dennis Itumbi,” the netizen opined.
“I’d rather f*ck a horse than get married to any of those ugly thieving baggers,” she promptly replied.
