There has been social media fire and criticism as Channel 5 set to air documentary on missing Titan submarine.
The Titan submersible, owned by OceanGate, went missing underwater on Sunday, June 18, with five people aboard.
Communication with the submersible was lost just one hour and forty-five minutes into the expedition.
Authorities were alerted when the vessel failed to arrive at the designated time the following day.
Despite the passage of 111 years since the tragic sinking of the RMS Titanic, the fascination surrounding this iconic ship remains undiminished.
On April 15, 1912, the Titanic sank after colliding with a massive iceberg, resulting in the loss of over 1,500 lives and earning the unfortunate distinction of being the deadliest maritime disaster in history.
The wreckage of the ship was discovered in 1985, resting at a depth of 3,810 meters in the North Atlantic Ocean.
While the Titan submersible has yet to be located, there is a documentary entitled “Titanic Sub: Lost at Sea” scheduled to air on UK’s Channel 5 today, June 23.
However, many Twitter users expressed their disapproval, considering it in poor taste, as the primary focus should currently be on the ongoing rescue mission for the missing vessel.
