Annabelle Ham Struggled with Epilepsy for a Long Time
Ham’s sister, Alexandria Ham, told The New York Post that the late YouTuber “struggled with epilepsy for a while.”
Epilepsy is a brain disorder that causes recurrent seizures due to abnormal electrical activity in the brain.
According to the CDC, about 3.4 million people in the US have epilepsy.
One of the possible complications of epilepsy is a sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP), which occurs when a person with epilepsy dies suddenly and no other cause of death can be found.
SUDEP affects about one in 1,000 people with epilepsy each year, according to SUDEP Action, a charity that raises awareness and supports research on epilepsy-related deaths.
However, it is not known if Ham’s death was caused by SUDEP or another factor related to epilepsy or not.
