The debate on poor Leadership, nepotism and impunity in our universities is still on .Sources close to Education Ministry have informed Cyprian Nyakundi that they will probe all allegations that have been raised against Meru University leadership.
The Ministry is also planning to come up with ways to vet Vcs and DVc,s of the recently chartered university colleges because of poor leadership, Impunity and cluelessness most of them have been accused of. Most of them were promoted into VCs from the ” Principals ” Post they previously held.
Meru University VC ” Professor ” Magambo is accused of incompetence and ruling the great university with an iron fist . The VC suspends students over petty issues. ” It is only in Meru University where a student can be suspended for stepping on a spoon ” Says a former Meru University student who was expelled a few years ago. He executes all his evils using the DVc Professor Gitonga Mburugu and Dean Jacob Ikihara who was handpicked by the two Academic crooks .

The ministry is also planning to probe the cause of student unrest in Meru University that saw one group kept at home for more than a year as a ” disciplinary action and warning to other errant students ”

The VC used to receive political patronage from the former Kibaki leadership considering the fact that the former Education Permanent Secretary Professor Chrispus Kiamba was a Meru .
” We need a complete change of Leadership in Meru University . There is nepotism, Poor leadership and impunity ” Says a student who wished not to be named because Magambo may suspend or expel him .
As the Education CS-probes these issues, we urge him to also look into the issue of half-baked graduates that is affecting all Universities in Kenya. According to world bank report, Universities are churning out theorists who can only explain how stuff is made but cannot make stuff .
