Manchester United’s MASON Greenwood is expected to learn about his future within a few weeks, as the club approaches a decision regarding his status.
Since his suspension by the club in January 2022, the talented Premier League player has not participated in any matches.
Greenwood faced allegations of physical and sexual abuse made against him on social media, leading to his arrest.
However, the charges of rape and assault were dropped in February this year.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) withdrew the case due to the alleged victim and multiple witnesses declining to cooperate.
Despite the dismissal of charges, Manchester United initiated their own investigation into the matter earlier this year and will base their next actions on its outcome.
While the investigation is still ongoing and not yet concluded, there are indications that progress has been made, bringing the resolution closer.
As reported by MEN, the Glazer family, who are the club owners, along with chief executive Richard Arnold, will make the final decision regarding any action to be taken against the player.
In April, The Sun exclusively revealed that Greenwood has informed his friends that he has no intention of playing for Manchester United again.
Mason Greenwood’s Future
Reports suggest that the striker, MASON Greenwood, has apparently come to terms with the idea of revitalizing his career abroad.
Furthermore, it has come to light that Juventus is prepared to offer Greenwood an opportunity in Italy, alongside his former teammate Paul Pogba.
Greenwood, who has scored 36 goals in 130 matches for Manchester United.
Greenwood still has two years remaining on his current contract, which pays him £75,000 per week.
In February, Manchester United stated that they would carry out their own internal process before determining their next course of action.
They further added that no further comments would be made until this process reaches completion.
