A huge fire that lasted for hours was reported at the Eldoret Airstrip this afternoon.
The inferno destroyed a huge section of the airstrip’s property.
Details on the fire have been sketchy but sources on the ground suggest that the fire spread to over 10 acres of the land the airstrip sits on.
It has also been reported that after hours of trying, emergency response teams and firefighters managed to contain the inferno.
Flights to the airstrip had to be diverted to the Eldoret International Airport for the better part of Wednesday.
