The State House Comptroller’s office announced an auction to the public, inviting interested parties to place bids on salvaged metals, tires, and broken down cars.
The president’s office has announced a public auction for various items, including used vehicles, tires, and batteries.
The State House Comptroller, in partnership with Astorion Auctioneers, has invited potential bidders for the auction taking place on Friday, June 16.
Notable vehicles available for bidding include a Toyota van priced at KSh 110,000 and a Range Rover at KSh 1.25 million.
Gerishon Mjomba from the Comptroller of State House Office has confirmed that bidders must pay a refundable fee of KSh 50,000, which will be returned to unsuccessful bidders.
State House Auctions Unused Vehicles
Astorion Auctioneers recently held an auction where bidders had to meet specific requirements, one of which was placing a refundable deposit of KSh 50,000.
Gerishon Mjomba, a representative from the State House Comptroller’s Office, clarified that this deposit would only be returned to unsuccessful bidders.
Mjomba further explained that the cars and other items available for auction were in repairable condition.
He emphasized that when they mentioned “unserviceable,” it meant the vehicles could be fixed, but it would be costly for the government.
However, anyone who purchased these items would have the opportunity to repair them.

Additional items being auctioned include a disc plough, lawnmowers, a 17,000-liter water tank, a cargo bed, split air conditioners, and compressor bitzers.
There is also a water cylinder (200 liters), outdated food lights, extinguisher cylinders, an air shampoo wash basin, an evaporator, and a condenser available for auction.
The prices for these items vary, with the waterside cylinder starting at KSh 500 and the disc plough priced at KSh 25,000.
