SBM Bank of Kenya is facing outrage from its furious clients, who say they have been unable to properly access some of the lender’s services over the weekend.
Writing to this blog on Saturday, July 2, a concerned customer complained of faulty transactions on the Mfukoni Mobile Banking App when making withdrawals to M-Pesa.
From SBM records, they deducted money from his bank account, but somehow the funds did not reflect in his M-Pesa mobile account.
To make matters worse, ever since Friday, July 1, when the problem reportedly began, the entity’s customer support representatives have still offered no help on the issue believed to be affecting thousands of their clients.
Over 24 hours later, the bank is yet to issue any apologies for any inconveniences caused by the faulty system or offer any direction on the way forward.
“Greetings Nyakundi,
I would like to expose the illegalities which SBM Bank clients are facing currently with their Mufukoni Mobile Banking App.
Since yesterday, the app has not been functioning well.
The sad thing is that when we withdraw funds from the account to M-Pesa, it deducts the funds, but nothing is deposited into your mobile account.
Thousands of clients are really suffering.
My question is, who is holding our money in thin air because we cannot access it?
Please expose this bank.
When you call customer service, they keep lying for over 24 hours now,” the concerned client writes.
