Classy urban restaurant 40Forty Lounge has been shut down.
Through a statement currently doing the rounds on social media, the entertainment joint perched high on the Crossroads Plaza rooftop along Westlands Road, off Mpaka Road notified its clients that the sudden move was occasioned by the premature expiry of their tenancy agreement at the building.
However, the management has assured loyal patrons that the lounge will soon make a comeback in a “more prime location”.
“We would like to thank you all for the patronage and the unforgettable moments you have shared with us at our establishment.
Unfortunately, our tenancy agreement with Crossroads Plaza has prematurely come to an end,” the notice reads in part.
The restaurant boasted a global heritage design with an urban retro ambience that targeted clientele in the mature and outgoing demographic.
It was known to be a hub for notorious drink-spiking gangs and all forms of ratchetry.
On numerous occasions, photos of scantily dressed slay queens devouring their sponsors’ money at the establishment became a major topic of discussion on social media.
Apart from the two bottles of Gilbeys Gin (one empty) that seemed to amuse netizens, keen-eyed tweeps also took notice of the rather unconventional choice to place their jackets, bags and other weird-looking belongings under the table.

According to experienced patrons, that is one obvious red flag to look out for when in the presence of such dangerous hoodlums.
The slay queens are said to have an eye for national government employees, senior policemen, and bankers.
