Former Devolution Cabinet Secretary and NYS Linked Plunderer Anne Waiguru has been trolled by social media users after she made a tweet that many Kenyans regarded as distasteful.
Pictures sent to the editor of this site spoke of a dire situation which required urgent attention. About a week after the sacking of the casual staff who included cleaners, five nurses were taken ill with Hepatitis B.
It is now emerging that a child died from the disease.
Even after all this, the governor seemed to downplay the situation and made this tweet that angered Kenyans on social media.
” This is the current status of Kerugoya hospital as at 12 pm today. However, you will agree with me that 346 casuals in addition to 300 medical staff, 50 data entry staff and other support staff is over staffing for a 200-bed capacity hospital.”
Here are reactions from social media users

We must understand that Waiguru has taken a new heavy role of being a wife and can’t mix family affairs with political leadership. She has opted to go for the former and leave the latter. Its sad.@AnneWaiguru

Governor, denial x 100 was your style before, during & after dismissal from Cabinet. Being a County CEO is a full time job, not even a doctor can prescribe “lighter duties”, but voters can dismiss & throw you into a bin forever. Punguza mikutano ya Nbi, kaa Kutus, fanya kazi!

Just because it’s 200 bed doesn’t mean it serves 200 people.

Exactly! It not a question of bed capacity.. It question of number of patients seen in 24hours..Madama Ann how many patients Kerugoya serve pay day..in wards..clinics, casualt etc

Definitely, let us see the Loo’s and all other ‘hidden places’ in there

The sad thing is no governor in central counties who is performing well ,people voted for party not leaders who have a heart .

Shouldn’t these logistics have been handled internally before us seeing the eyesore that was witnessed lately? Surely Mumbi your job description includes this too. Thanks for taming it though.

@AnneWaiguru is it true Kerugoya is a 200 bed hospital? Do you know anything about that hospital? What was the patient census yesterday? Any idea? So yours is same size with Kerugoya Medical center at Kibingo which is a private 180 bed hospital a kilometer away? @citizentvkenya

Increase the bed capacity, don’t fire staff. We need more jobs for the people

You are hard working and you excel most of the times. Buy you are agree that the state of affairs at Kerugoya hospital has been pathetic and beyond heart breaking. Sort that problem permanently.

This one is a major low madam Gov. Should have been avoided by doing what has been done the last 10 hours . An embarrassment . Same await Gov001 @HassanAliJoho as per the pics I have seen from coast General hospitals toilets .

I sympathise. You may have a case of support staff who’ve gotten used to the casuals doing their work. I’ve seen it elsewhere. You could get a cleaning company and maintain minimum support staff, or get rid of support staff and employ the casuals.
