Four conmen have been arrested for obtaining Sh29m by false pretenses in Kasarani, Nairobi.
Eric Otieno, Antony Achieng, George Kinuthia Mbugua and Arthur Caleb Otieno are accused of obtained the money from an unsuspecting buyer, when they pretended they would sell him gold.
DCI George Kinoti established that from April 1, 2019 to February 28, 2020 the the four posed as mere DCI officers who were selling gold on behalf of their senior.
SSU detectives arrested them on the grounds of obtaining money by false pretence. They obtained more than Sh29 million from a foreigner on the pretext that they would sell him gold.
The four who have been thrown behind bars were still demanding more money from the victim.
SSU detectives have arrested four suspects at Kasarani in Nairobi County for obtaining money by false pretence.
