Controversial political scientist Mutahi’s Ngunyi’s house is on fire.
This is according to former State House Director of Innovation, Digital and Diaspora Communication, Dennis Itumbi who broke the news on early Wednesday morning.
Attached to his post was an image purporting to show Ngunyi’s Runda house up in flames.
From the shot, one can see one section of the roof engulfed in a raging inferno.
On the right side of the house, smoke can be seen forcing its way out through the upstairs windows.
“Dear Fire Brigade, please rush and save Mutahi Ngunyi House from FIRE,” he wrote, adding “Hope the man is safe and family OK.”
In a follow-up tweet published a few minutes later, Itumbi went on to reveal that all fire engines within the area had responded to the scene.
Itumbi added that according to first responders on-site, Mutahi Ngunyi was found miserably drunk and sleeping in his car.
“Asante for the Retweets. You have helped Mutahi Ngunyi get responses from all nearby Fire Engines. First responders say, he is “Miserably drunk” and he is sleeping in his car,” he posted.
The above tweet was later deleted.
Itumbi was fired in 2019 after a seven-year stint at the Presidential Strategic Communications Unit (PSCU) and has since then been closely working with Deputy President William Ruto’s camp.
His job as the house on the hill’s top propagandist was later taken over by his nemesis Mutahi Ngunyi who runs things from the background with long-serving State House employees like David Nzioka acting as his loyal lieutenants.
