Police are exploring the circumstances under which a guard contracted to KK Security Ltd lost his life in Kericho.
The body of the 39-year-old man who was assigned at the Unilever Tea Company was found dumped under a bridge near the factory early Thursday morning.
According to John Onyango, the County Criminal Investigations Officer, an alarm was raised by the company’s Chief Security officer who informed detectives that a dead body had been spotted within the premises.
The guard who was off duty at the time is said to have suffered a fatal stab injury that penetrated through his shoulder into the heart.
The sleuths added that a preliminary inspection of the crime scene suggested that the place where the body was found was a secondary location since there was no blood at the scene nor any sign of struggle.
The body is currently at the Kericho County Hospital mortuary as further investigations into the incident continue.
