Safaricom Investment cooperative members are demanding the resignation of the Board that is led by Peter Gichangi, the son of former National Intelligence boss Michael Gichangi who was fired by Uhuru over incompetence.
Michael Gichangi was fired in 2014 for failing to stop a spate of attacks blamed on Islamist militants from neighbouring Somalia.
Gichangi was also severely criticised in the wake of the Westgate attack for failing to stop the attackers from the al Shabaab group who said they launched the attacks to punish the country for sending its troops into Somalia in 2011.
Many members the editor of this site has spoken to anonymously have linked the corruption to the board, where the board chair Peter Gichangi has been accused of using links to NIS to harass and intimidate former staffers who are leaking information.
All over social media, there are complaints about poor management by the Sacco yet nothing has ever been done. We have reports that Peter Gichangi has been using his contacts to stall any action by relevant authorities like Sassra by using his father’s name.
Below are more comments and cries from members from the Sacco crying for help but no action by the likes of Sassra
