The government of Kenya through the Assets and Recovery Agency (ARA) has blocked access to money in accounts owned by OIT Africa Ltd, Avalon Offshore Logistics Ltd and RemiX Capital Ltd.
The three firms are believed to be involved in money laundering and illicit financial flows.
According to registrar of company records, the firms that were recently registered in Kenya are owned Nigerians and Kenyans.
The frozen amount in the accounts total up to more than Sh5.6 billion.
The ARA says the four directors of the firms—the two Nigerians and two Kenyans—shrugged off repeated summons to explain the source of the billions.
The monies which were sent in tranches in order to hide any suspicious activity are being held in Equity and UBA banks.
According to mainstream media, OIT Africa had Sh4.8 billion in two Equity accounts and one in UBA. Avalon Offshore Logistics had Sh43.5 million in two Equity accounts, while Remix Capital had Sh765 million in one UBA account.
Avalon Offshore is owned by Nigerians Jeffrey Nnaoma Michaels and Uduma Okoro Christopher Kalu.
OIT Africa is owned by Vionnah Akoth Odongo and Kenneth Odongo Raminya.
RemiX Capital records are non existent on the registrar’s records.

All these transactions wouldn’t be possible were it not for two reasons.
First, Equity bank is a known corrupt entity that steals money from its clients, misdirects donor funding and condones corruption. It is therefore wasyr for the bank to accept illicit cash. Not that any other Kenyan bank is better, but Equity is the top most corrupt.
Secondly, in the criminal underworld and overworld of Kenya’s corporate scene, there’s a jackal. A slow moving greedy hyena, quick in calculation and the with the hiding mechanisms of a mountain leopard.
