Former Ketracco CEO and current Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa today appeared before the EACC investigative panel to respond to allegations of corruption.
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission had summoned Barasa to respond to corruption allegations during his tenure at Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited (Ketracco)
Barasa, who looted a lot of money while at Ketracco was embraced by Raila Odinga’s Azimio as he used part of the money to buy an ODM ticket and fund the Raila Odinga campaign up to the tune of Ksh. 1.2 Billion.
Sources close to the EACC have confirmed to the editor of this site that the commission tried to investigate his cases but the handshake government blocked their efforts.
The recent saga pertains to a suspected fraudulent transaction said to have been paid to Lake Turkana Wind Power for a project in Marsabit.
There are more multi-billion scandals that happened under Barasa with most of the money laundered into his foundation where he put his wife as the head of the foundation that used to contribute up to Ksh. 10 million shillings to churches per weekend.
