Dr Patrick Amukoa, a renowned Kenyan anaesthetist, was on Friday charged with allegedly attempting to kill his ex-wife Catherine Njoki Kamau and her boyfriend Kennedy Momanyi.
Dr Amukoa appeared before Milimani senior principal magistrate Bernard Ochoi.
He denied both accusations of conspiring to kill the couple between August 19, 2015, and September 3, 2015, and pleaded for lenient bond terms.
Through his lawyer, he argued that he was not a flight risk as he had a specific place of work, which is a reputable institution.
Dr Amukoa was arrested at the Agha Khan Hospital Kisumu, where he works as a director.
The magistrate released the accused on a cash bail of Sh150,000 or a bond of Sh300,000.
The case will be mentioned on November 25.
