A man in Mwingi, Kitui County, recently decided to hire thugs to kill his parents so that he can take over their Sh2.6 million piece of land.
He colluded with a local politician.
“A prominent businessman by the name Henry Kioko Kithendu aged 78yrs is going through a lot. He is old and ailing blood pressure and blindness. His wife has cancer and one of the son’s together with some local politicians, who he has promised a share of land if they eliminate the old man and wife, organized thugs to break the old man’s house murder them and to torch the house. Luckily they were in hospital that night. So they broke the house and set it on fire using petrol with no occupants. The younger brother of the evil planner is the trustee of the parents and is the one who takes care of the parents. The have threatened the young man who has since fled leaving the old parents sickly and helpless”, a source in Mwingi told cnyakundi.com
Statements about the incident have been recorded at the Mwingi Poilice Station but no action has been taken as residents believe police have been bribed.

The land seems so lucrative as another man only identified as Stanley Nzomo lives on the old mzee’s land which he only paid 120k. Mr Nzomo has refused to clear the balance. The land is worth 2.6million
