Sleuths from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) conman by the name Joseph Lendrix Waswa has been arrested at Milimani opposite Sagret.
His charge sheet reads obtaining money by false pretense.
‘He is a known conman. He has extorted Sh2.2million from businesslady Jackline Waithera Njoroge by lying to her that he had a UN contract and convinced her to contribute as co-partner,’a source familiar with the matter told cnyakundi.com
Police have been trailing him for a long time and finally got him today.

Online source say the 35 year old has been conning people and has a fleet of four choppers and enjoys the high life.
Waswa is among the people that conned off Sh80 million late businessman Naushad Merali by mimicking Uhuru Kenyatta’s voice.
For the above crime, he was arraigned in court in 2019 alongside co-accused Duncan Muchai, Isaac Wajekeche, William Simiyu, David Luganya, Gilbert Kirunja and Anthony Wafula.
Waswa’s daring fraud against Merali lifted the lid on his run-ins with the law.
In 2014, Waswa was arrested and arraigned at the Bungoma High Court on charges of murdering Mombasa University student Mitch Barasa Kibiti.
The slain student was the son of a former Bungoma chief officer David Kibiti.
The court heard that Waswa shot dead Mitch at his hotel in Kimilili while he was celebrating his birthday with friends.
Residents later torched Waswa’s Etonia Hotel in Kimilili.
The murder trial is pending at the High Court.
