I want to thank you personally for the good job you’re doing please keep it up. I want to bring to your attention what is happening at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DEKUT).
I don’t know which authority is mandated to accreditation of what is taught in our universities?
I am asking this because my son is a student in DEKUT (short form for the university) taking faculty of GEOLOGY. He has been telling me that this course has not been accredited because they don’t have a laboratory which is a must to this degree course.
My son is suppose to graduate next year with a useless degree that will not be recognize anywhere.
My concern is, how can Commission for University Education (CUE), Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) (this service replaced the Joint Admission Board) and Ministry of Education allow such a thing to happen under their watchful eyes.
The Secretary Cabinet for Education with all the hope and confidence we had for him-that he is the one to revolutionize education sector allow this to happen in his docket.
I was very touched when my son was in tears, saying he’s about to loose 4 years of his university education to an insensitive administration which they’ve been engaging since he join the school of learning.
Please Nyakundi could you highlight this with the strongest terms possible. These are innocent student who found themselves in this quagmire and you are the only saviour.
