Residents of Kilifi have expressed their displeasure at COTU boss Francis Atwoli for denying locals access to a public space.
The veteran trade unionist who recently moved into his newly-built palatial home in Bofa area has been accused of being a nuisance to the neighbouring community whom he reportedly loves to bully with his contingent of Administration Police (AP) officers.
From some social media posts seen by cnyakundi.com, locals can no longer enjoy themselves at the nearby “Kwa Ngala” beach which has since been cordoned off from the public under Atwoli’s blessings.
“Your Bofa home has become a nuisance to the people of Kilifi, we can’t access Kwa Ngala beach like before APs chasing residents. Tuachie bahari tujivinjari buana,” read one tweet addressed to Awtoli.
“A public beach about to be completely grabbed, huko mwisho wa lami after Bofa in Kilifi, ameweka hata polisi washike doria, can’t watch sunrise/sunset or swim,” added another Kenyan.
The self-declared Luhya political spokesman spent this past weekend at the mansion and even hosted Nairobi deputy governor Anne Kananu and David Murathe on Sunday night.
His last born daughter, Maria Atwoli also accompanied her father to Kilifi from where she has been sharing photos and videos of their home and beach which local residents cannot access.
