Embakasi East MP Babu Owino on Monday left netizens chuckling after he shared snapshots of the extraordinary gift of two goats which were personally delivered to the legislator at parliament buildings.
Through a post published across his social media platforms, Babu went on to reveal that the bucks were handed to him by a delegation from the Maasai community as a reward for his viral online classes during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With schools shut down and children forced to stay home, the ODM party politician won the hearts of internet users with his delivery of lessons with many impressed with his criteria for selecting teachers who take students through different subjects during his weekly classes which he broadcasted across his pages.
But as is common with the witty former student leader known for his somewhat comic personality, he simply couldn’t let a good opportunity for a joke to pass by.
At the end of the caption, Babu stated that he had named the two goats after Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta and his party leader ex-Premier Raila Odinga who lately took a sharp turn from arch-rivals to close buddies who now reportedly plot development agenda and launch projects together.
“Today at Parliament, I received a delegation from the Masaai community who gifted me with two goats for the good job we have been doing by teaching the Kenyan children,” he wrote.
“I named one goat Raila and the other Uhuru,” he added.

Just last week, the controversial lawmaker sent netizens talking once more when he made yet another eye-catching post where he showered president Uhuru Kenyatta with praises, declaring that he had become the president’s number one loyalist.
Babu’s sentiments were a clear indication that there are no permanent enemies in politics given that the MP was once a fierce critique of the president before the famous ‘handshake’ between him and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
