Police in Ugenya, Siaya County on Monday nabbed bhang worth over Ksh. 1.5 million along Siranga-Sega road.
According to Ugenya Sub-County Police Commander Willy Simba, his officers were on patrol when they came across a Toyota Noah vehicle whose driver declined to stop and instead reversed with an intention of escaping.
The police boss disclosed that the driver attempted to drive through a maize plantation where the vehicle got stuck.
On realising that the vehicle could not move any more, the driver and one other person abandoned the car and escaped on foot.
Police officers who arrived at the scene recovered eight bags full of bhang with a street value of Ksh.1.5 million.
The vehicle together with the drugs were taken to Ukwala Police Station.
