This week, Kenyan blogger Abraham Mutai faced heavy backlash after he made a controversial tweet accusing Kenyan mobile technology company Cellulant of tribalism.
Mutai questioned why the company’s six employees who died in the Riverside Drive Attack were all from the same community.
Social media users called out the blogger for being insensitive and taking advantage of a tragedy to push his own agenda.
Mutai, you are insensitive. Very uncouth of you to talk talk about ethnicity when we have lost fellow Kenyans in such circumstances. Very sad indeed https://t.co/NC8CSvMXqg

How low can you go @ItsMutai?
Why make unsubstantiated claims?
Are you privy to the recruitment?
Shame on you, preying on the grieving for clicks and RTs pic.twitter.com/Oz6ozfrg96— Naomi Mutua 🐾❤️ (@AKenyanGirl) January 24, 2019

I have never seen a human being who is as shallow as mutai using photos of the late cellulant employees to push his agenda,Imagine they have families who are on social media who are still grieving . Just throw him away nkt

Mutai, what became of you? Have you lost your mind? This is absurd beyond measure. These young men, no matter the tribe, lost their lives in a tragic manner; you won’t even let their loved ones mourn in peace with spewing rubbish? You’re a complete shame. https://t.co/gctBcO7G3C

Despite a huge majority disagreeing with Mutai, others felt that he had a point.
Mutai has a point here. Shida ni timing
