This afternoon, fast-paced and stunt-filled British motor show Top Gear landed in trouble with a section of the online community after their social media handler made an extremely controversial tweet which a few people saw as racist.
Attached to the tweet was a photo of a group of Kenyan conservationists posing next to a Land Rover defender inside the Borana Conservancy, with the caption; “Look at these lovely pictures of animals… and a Defender.”

People in the replies section immediately expressed concern over the choice of photo and the caption.
It took the intervention of one Twitter user who came to the show’s rescue and pointed out that the “animals” mentioned on the tweet, can be found in other extra photos posted on their website which can be accessed through the link provided.
Despite this fact, many have maintained that the social media handler’s decision to use that specific photo when sharing the link might have been intentional.
