Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested a lady of Indian descent who threatened to blow up Doctor’s Park in Parklands, Nairobi.
FOLLOWING the Bomb Scare incident on 30th January, 2020 at Doctors’ Park in Parklands-Nrb, the prime suspect; Meera Dinesh PATEL was yesterday arrested by DCI ATPU Detectives in a manful Forensic-led operation after Crime Scene processing was undertaken.
The Anti-Terror Police Unit (ATPU) has foiled many terror threats in Nairobi, most of which don’t get media attention for security reasons.
Parklands Doctor’s Park hoax led to the evacuation of the whole building and adjacent areas, disrupting businesses and heightening security operations in and around Nairobi.
It is said that the suspect, Ms Dinesh is a tenant at the residential building had ‘expressed interest in taking up the manager’s position but was not successful’. This according to CCTV footage reviews and witness accounts made her frustrated and ‘want to blow up the building’.
The DCI warns members of the public from engaging in such hoaxes stating that punitive and lawful actions will be taken against them.
