DCI detectives have recovered two more guns from the residence of Chris Obure in Kilimani.
Obure and his security guy Robert Ouko are currently being held by police after Obure’s Ceska pistol was used in the fatal gunning of another businessman, Kevin Omwenga last Friday.
The court granted Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives 12 more days to detain them as they investigate the killing of Omwenga.
Ouko is the key suspect in the case, he is accused of fatally shooting the businessman inside his bedroom on the seventh floor of the Galana Suites in Kilimani, Nairobi.
Obure’s past records with the gun show that he is not fit to possess a gun but somehow he found one that Ouko is accused of using on the deceased, plus to more recovered by the detectives.
The same Mini Ceska that was used in killing of Omwenga was impounded in 2017 after Obure used it to threaten another businessman, Ben Alila.
But in May 2019, Senior Resident Magistrate Rashid of the Milimani Law Courts ruled that Obure’s firearm be returned to him.
Detectives recovered a shotgun and a pistol hidden inside a safe in the office on Senteu Plaza, Galana Road after they raided the premises on Wednesday night.
