Following our expose on the extortion racket being run by Mr. Nzioka, the headteacher of Donholm Primary School.
The Ministry of Education and Teachers Service Commission sent some officials to the school to further investigate.
Cnyakundi.com has learnt that the officials were duped with fake numbers.
Our source confirms that the school issues a questionnaire that was meant to collect information about fees and other charges in the school. The questionnaire was administered to class 8 and class 6 pupils.
Class 8 pupils were coached to lie that the tuition fee is Sh400 instead of Sh1000 and that the illegal payment for tuition for Saturday was Sh50 instead of Sh150.
‘Some two pupils rebelled against this directive and gave TSC officials the correct figures. It is only good that they will not be victimized since they never wrote their names”, our source said.
Massive extortion racket happening at Donholm Primary School
As for class 6 and 7 pupils, our source confirms that they were coached to deny all allegations contained in our blog.
‘They said that they never pay any extra tuition fees and that uji is optional, which is a lie’, said our source.
Class 6, and 7 pupils were allegedly threatened with dire consequences in case they didn’t toe the line.
“Nyinyi bado mko na sisi hapa, kw hivyo mfanye vile tumewaambia, kama sivyo tafukuzwa’, they were told and they obeyed.
Mr. Nzioka’s purse
Below is how a distressed parent wrote to us:
“Wuehh! Mimi hii donholm primary school is a school of robbers it’s an underground version of cheap private school, not a public school. Imagine ten days to KCPE watoto wanafukuzwa juu hawajalipa 300 Bob for PTA and 100 for teachers’ motivation. What is this teachers’ motivation? aren’t they being paid salary by the government? Not forgetting we pay tuition fees for Saturday’s separately with the normal tuition fee. Every Saturday we pay Sh150 per child, every month Sh1000 per child, exams Sh400 per child, lunch 50bob, uji at Sh10bob. Every exam papers in class Sh30 Bob each exam. Does every public school do all this? Or is it just this Donholm robbery primary school? CS Magoha anajua hii kweli? Please help me help other less fortunate parents like me by doing a tweet about this stupid school”, a parent complained.
We at cnyakundi.com hope that the school’s administration will not be let off the hook easily and that the investigative exercise by TSC was not just a formality.
TSC should delve deep into the extortion claims using undercover detectives.
