Speaking in Naivasha, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission CEO Twalib Mbaraki on Monday, October 28 revealed that they are going after 8 counties in latest corruption probe.
However, Mbaraki did not name the counties but said that among others they’re investigating on embezzlement of funds, illegal employment of workers, flouting procurement laws and use of forged documents in some cases.
Mbaraki further added that some governors are on EACC’s radar over graft related cases.
“It is too early to say we are recommending their prosecution. We are not in a hurry to take governors to court but the message to them is that a crime investigation does not expire,” he said.
The CEO also proudly stated that they have made great improvements in recovering illegally acquired properties. He said that they have recovered over 1,500 parcels of land belonging to Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organisation (KARLO), Naivasha valued at more than Sh 8.9 billion.
He further added that the title deed are ready and thay they will set a ceremony to hand over the title deeds.
